Spiral Scouts

written by k. suzanne henderson

Spiral Scouts is the pagan community's response to Boy/Girl Scouts and simmilar groups. Spiral Scouts provides children and families a chance to pursue pagan values that are important to them and to explore various mythologies and enviromentalism.

Ther are three levels:
FireFlies (preschoolers - 8 years old)
SpiralScouts (8 - 14 years old)
PathFinders (older teens)

Groups are often of mixed ages and should be led by both a male and female adult (to teach balance in gender and sharing of leadership). There are uniforms and badges to be earned. Check out the website: spiralscouts.org for more information.

Wisconsin currently has a group in Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI interested in starting a group. If you would like more information, email me.

The Baltimore, MD community has also started a group: http://home.earthlink.net/~carynmacluan/spiral_scouts.htm.

For other states, please check the website to find established groups or start your own.
